Payroll Giving is a fantastic scheme. It makes giving to charity really tax-effective.
Anyone who is paid through PAYE (Pay as Your Earn) can do Payroll Giving, as long as their employer has signed up to the scheme. Basically, donations are made straight from gross pay before tax, and this means the value of donations is increased.
For instance, if a basic rate taxpayer pledges £10 per month, it actually only costs them £7.80.
and for a higher rate tax payer this £10 per month would only cost £6.
Great, isnt it!
Payroll Giving is easy to operate, and enhances any businesss CSR commitment.
